BUY TCS

BUY TCS @ 2490-2500 SL 2448 TGT 2600  |  5-10 Days

 In last five months, the prices have been trading in a range of `2450 to `2770 and prices are trading at the support end of the range post recent correction.

 Around the support zone, the stock has formed a ‘Gravestone Doji’ candlestick pattern in yesterday’s trading session, which can be a trigger for the short term up move in the counter.

 The ‘Stochastic’ indicator is giving positive crossover with its average from the oversold territory in the daily chart, indicating a bounce on cards.

 Looking at the above technical evidences, we are expecting a pullback move in the stock. Thus, we advise traders to buy this stock from current level and on a correction up to ` 2490 for a target of ` 2600 in coming 5 to 10 trading sessions. The stop loss for this trade set up can be kept at ` 2448.

FII Activity Yesterday

FII Activity Yesterday :

Yesterday, FIIs were net buyers in both cash market segment and in Index Futures. They bought equities to the tune of Rs. 480 crores and Index Futures of Rs. 251 crores with rise in OI, suggesting good amount of fresh long formation in last trading session.

In Index Options front, FIIs bought of Rs. 468 crores with rise in OI. In call options, 8400-8500 strikes added decent build-up; we believe it’s more of writing. While in put options, huge OI addition was seen in 8000-8200 and 7700 strikes. Maximum OI is seen in 8300 call and 7800 put options. 8150-8200 is a major resistance for market; we suggest waiting and watching these levels before forming any fresh position in Nifty.

 FIIs continue selling in cash market segment; they sold to the tune of Rs. 1330 crores. In Index Futures they bought of Rs. 173 crores with rise in OI, suggesting fresh long formation in last trading session.

 In Index Options front, they bought of Rs. 1463 crores with some rise in OI. In call options, we hardly saw meaningful OI addition, good amount of unwinding was seen in 7800 call option. On the other hand in put options, huge build-up was seen in the range of 7600-7750 put options, followed by significant unwinding in the money put strikes 7800-8200 put options. Maximum OI is seen in 8000 call and 7600 put options.

 FII’s has been adding meaningful shorts in Index Futures in past few days and we believe they are forming these shorts in October series which suggests continuation of pain in market. We would stick to our view, that it’s a sell on rise market. Avoid forming fresh longs in Index.

Market Outlook

Indian markets are expected to open flat tracking the SGX Nifty and Asian cues.

The US markets closed flat showing a lack of direction reflecting continued uncertainty about the outlook for U.S. monetary policy following last week's Federal Reserve decision.

European markets ended in the green led by bargain hunting at lower levels and improvement in market sentiment on account of rebound in shares of Volkswagen after 2 days of sharp declines.

Indian equities opened lower but recovered during the day on account of positive cues from Europe and comments from Chinese President Xi Jinping that a cheaper currency would not be used to boost exports.

The stock has corrected significantly in the last few months and has reached around its support area of 215 – 220 zone in the monthly chart. While, on the weekly chart, we are observing a formation of a bullish harmonic pattern called ‘Bullish Bat’ pattern, whose Potential Reversal Zone (PRZ) is placed at 220 – 226 levels. On oscillator front, the ‘RSI- smoothened’ is giving positive crossover with its average from the oversold territory in the daily chart, indicating reversal on cards. Looking at the current chart structure, we advise traders to buy this stock at current levels and on declines to ` 232 for a target of ` 252 in coming 14 to 21 trading sessions. The stop loss for this trade set up can be kept at ` 224.

trend deciding level

The trend deciding level for the day is 7,889 levels.

If NIFTY trades above this level during the first half-an-hour of trade then we may witness a further rally up to 7,924 – 7,949 levels.

However, if NIFTY trades below 7,889 levels for the first half-an-hour of trade then it may correct towards 7,864 – 7,828 levels.

This stock has been a laggard since past few months. After a sharp fall from the all time high of `402.62 post the Union Budget; this stock consolidated within a range of `320 – `290 for quite some time. Last week, we observed a first sign of strength as the stock prices confirmed a ‘Higher Top Higher Bottom’ formation on the daily chart for the first time in past few months. This can also be termed as a breakout from the ‘Multiple Resistance Zone’ of `322 on a closing basis. Due to lack of follow up buying interest, the stock prices have given a pull back towards the breakout point. But, going forward, we expect this momentum continue over the next few trading sessions.

FII Activity & Nifty View

FII Activity & Nifty View

Yesterday, FII’s activity in cash market segment was subdued. While in Index Futures they were net buyers of worth Rs.613 crores with rise in open interest. This suggest FII’s did not participated in last half an hours fall in Nifty, in fact they formed fresh longs in Index Futures in last trading session.

In Index Options front they bought to the tune of Rs.633 crores with rise in open interest. In call options, 8700 strike added good amount build-up, which is long position formed by FIIs. On the other hand in put options, we hardly saw any fresh build-up. Some unwinding was seen in 8200 and 8400 put options. Maximum open interest is seen in 8800 call and 8200 put options.

Seeing the above data, we believe Nifty may remain strong, as FIIs continue to form longs. We suggest to trade with positive bias in Nifty till we see any relevant changes.

We have seen a stupendous rally in this stock from the September 2013 low of `61.51. Last month, this stock posted a new all time high of `357.36 and since then has been undergoing a medium term consolidation phase. Recently, the stock has given a decent bounce after taking a strong support around its daily ’89-EMA’ level of `305; which we expect to act as a sheet anchor in the near term. This support zone coincides with the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the recent up move from `256.43 to `357.36. Considering the positive placement of the momentum oscillators along with the continuation of a higher degree up trend, we expect this stock to give a decent up move in the near term.

weekly charts

On weekly charts, the prices are trading near the lower end of a long term trendline support. In last one year, prices have formed a complex corrective pattern and the wave counts indicate end of a corrective leg near the recent lows. Prices in last few days have been consolidating in a narrow range and breakout from the consolidation zone could lead to sharp pullback. Looking at above evidences, we believe the stock could move higher and retrace the recent corrective leg.

FII Activity & Nifty View

FII Activity & Nifty View :

Yesterday, FII's were net buyers in cash market of worth Rs. 350 crores. Whereas, in Index Futures, their activity was quite, they sold of Rs 188 crores with fall in open interest, suggesting long unwinding in last trading session.

In Index options front, FIIs were net buyer of Rs. 588 crores with rise in open interest. PCR-OI increased with rise in IV’s which indicates buying in
put options. We saw decent amount of buildup in deep out the money call options of 9000 strike. Whereas, in put options, 8200 and 8500 strikes added some open interest. Maximum buildup in current series in seen in 9000 call and 8200 put
options.

Seeing the overall data, we believe Nifty may strengthen from current levels, as too many long are in system. We are hardly seeing selling in Index Futures, in fact FII’s had formed reasonable fresh longs last week. We suggest to trade with positive
bias in market.

Justification:
On June 18, 2015, the stock has given breakout from the ‘Inverse Head & Shoulder’ pattern in the daily chart with noticeable volumes. Then after, the stock rallied sharply to make a new 52 week high of `1067.85. From last few trading sessions, we are witnessing corrective price action in the stock, which is now taking support around the 38.20% retracement level of the upmove from `873.65 to `1067.85. Today, we are observing bullish move in the stock after the formation of couple of ‘Doji’ candles around the support zone. Since the momentum oscillator is placed positively, we are expecting the counter to cross recent highs.
